Plant/Transmission Systems Analyst (2–8+ Years)
Location: Remote (EST Hours)
Type: Remote – Full Time
Job Summary
We are seeking Plant/Transmission Systems Analysts to support and lead technical reviews, engineering assessments, and NERC compliance initiatives for power generation and transmission facilities. These positions offer opportunities for professionals ranging from early-career analysts to senior subject matter experts, with responsibilities and technical leadership increasing based on experience level.
Responsibilities
2–5 Years of Experience – Plant/Transmission Systems Analyst
• Conduct technical assessments with limited oversight
• Review relay settings, testing records, and facility ratings programs
• Analyze system operating characteristics and supporting documentation
• Prepare client deliverables and compliance reports
• Support client meetings as a technical resource
• Identify compliance risks and recommend corrective actions
5–8 Years of Experience – Staff Plant/Transmission Systems Analyst
• Lead complex compliance assessments and serve as technical lead on assigned projects
• Review and approve work products from junior analysts
• Provide mentoring and technical guidance to team members
• Participate in client presentations and technical discussions
• Support business development efforts through technical expertise
• Independently manage technical projects and deliverables
8+ Years of Experience – Senior Plant/Transmission Systems Analyst
• Serve as the primary technical authority on complex projects and specialized engagements
• Develop methodologies, best practices, and technical guidance
• Act as the primary technical contact and strategic advisor for key clients
• Mentor and develop analyst staff across the organization
• Lead high-risk compliance engagements and engineering reviews
• Support proposal development and business growth initiatives
Requirements
2–5 Years of Experience
• Working knowledge of NERC PRC-005 and FAC-008 standards
• Understanding of protective relaying schemes and facility ratings methodologies
• Ability to independently analyze technical data and documentation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences
5–8 Years of Experience
• Advanced knowledge of NERC PRC-005 and FAC-008 standards
• Strong understanding of relay protection systems and generation/transmission operations
• Ability to interpret complex testing and engineering documentation
• Experience leading projects and providing technical guidance to others
• Strong client-facing communication skills
8+ Years of Experience
• Expert-level knowledge of applicable NERC standards
• Deep understanding of power system operations and protection systems
• Expertise in relay settings, testing methodologies, facility ratings, and engineering analyses
• Ability to provide strategic compliance recommendations and influence client decisions
• Proven leadership and mentoring experience
