We are hiring a Construction Specialist to support fiber and coax telecommunications construction projects. This role will perform field quality inspections, audits, and documentation to ensure network infrastructure is installed correctly and meets company standards, specifications, and safety requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform field quality inspections on fiber and coax construction projects.
- Inspect fiber taps, fiber enclosures, amplifiers, nodes, and other coax infrastructure.
- Conduct fiber tap audits for RBB projects and support node upgrade inspections.
- Inspect equipment located in vaults and pedestals, including lifting lids and documenting findings.
- Capture and upload QC data, photos, observations, and inspection results using Smartsheet.
- Identify construction quality issues and coordinate with construction and project teams to resolve them.
- Ensure completed construction work meets company standards, project specifications, and safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and detailed documentation.
- Travel to multiple field locations as needed to complete inspections.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with both fiber and coax construction required.
- Strong knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure, including taps, nodes, enclosures, and amplifiers.
- Comfortable working in the field and performing physical inspections.
- Ability to lift vault lids and pedestal covers during inspections.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify construction quality issues.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple inspection sites.
- Strong communication, documentation, and reporting skills.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
Preferred Experience
- Experience performing quality control or field inspections on telecommunications construction projects.
- Experience auditing fiber taps and supporting node upgrade projects.
- Experience using Smartsheet for QC tracking, documentation, and reporting.
- Experience coordinating with construction and project teams to resolve quality issues.
- Fiber and coax construction experience in telecommunications infrastructure.
