A leading fin-tech company is hiring a Principal Data Engineer for a full-time opportunity in Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 2-3 days onsite). This role is ideal for a senior engineer who has strong experience with Java + Spring Boot and enjoys building modern, large-scale data and machine learning platforms.
You’ll have the opportunity to define and modernize next-generation data platforms while exploring emerging AI capabilities. The team is looking for a hands-on technical leader who can architect scalable solutions, mentor engineers, and drive innovation.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of data engineering experience
- Strong experience with AWS, Snowflake, and Databricks
- Expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Experience designing scalable data pipelines and cloud-native architectures
- PostgreSQL and MongoDB experience
- CI/CD and DevOps experience
- Proven techncial leadership and mentoring experience
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience with AI/ML, LLM’s, or Agentic AI
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Financial services industry experience
