A rapidly growing sleep technology company is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its engineering organization. The team develops connected hardware, cloud-native software, AI-powered experiences, and large-scale data systems that help consumers optimize recovery and performance. The environment includes distributed systems, microservices, cloud infrastructure, data processing pipelines, and modern backend technologies such as Ruby, Node.JS, and TypeScript.
This is an opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working on complex technical challenges with real-world impact. The organization processes massive amounts of user data daily and relies on highly available backend services to power consumer-facing experiences. Engineers receive significant ownership, work closely with product and infrastructure teams, and contribute to systems that span software, hardware, machine learning, and mobile applications. The role offers strong technical growth and the chance to influence platform architecture as the company continues to scale globally.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
- 5+ years focused on backend engineering, platform engineering, or site reliability engineering
- Experience building and supporting distributed systems
- Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure and services
- Advanced proficiency in at least two of the following: Ruby, Node.JS, TypeScript, etc
- Experience with microservices architectures
- Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization skills
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience supporting large-scale data pipelines
- Experience maintaining highly available production systems
- Knowledge of observability and monitoring platforms
- Experience with DevOps and infrastructure automation
- Exposure to machine learning or IoT ecosystems
- Experience working within fast-paced product organizations
