Software Engineer 3 – Python / React / Cloud Automation
Location: Irving, TX – Las Colinas
Work Schedule: Hybrid – 3 days onsite / 2 days remote
Contract: 6 months
Employment Type: W2
About the Role
We are seeking a Software Engineer 3 to join an infrastructure development organization focused on building automation solutions that enable a software-driven infrastructure environment.
In this role, you will develop automation solutions for infrastructure services and application migration initiatives, with a strong focus on Python development, React, API development, and cloud-native technologies. You will help build scalable, self-service capabilities that improve reliability and reduce operational effort.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, debug, and document software solutions.
- Build automation solutions supporting infrastructure services and application migration initiatives.
- Develop API interfaces for infrastructure components and internal systems.
- Build scalable and reliable self-service capabilities for customers.
- Develop and maintain backend services using Python.
- Develop user interfaces using React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Design and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Participate in CI/CD, Agile, and DevOps practices.
- Troubleshoot production and non-production issues and serve as an escalation point when needed.
- Ensure solutions meet quality, security, compliance, and engineering standards.
- Participate in daily Scrum ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of Software Engineering experience.
- 4+ years of professional Python development experience.
- 4+ years of Python unit testing experience.
- 3+ years of React/front-end development experience.
- 3+ years of Agile, CI/CD, and DevOps experience.
- 2+ years of API development experience.
- 1+ year of cloud-native application development experience using technologies such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, or Cloud Foundry.
Preferred Qualifications
- Full-stack development experience across frontend and backend technologies.
- Experience with React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Experience with Python frameworks such as Django or FastAPI.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Experience with SQL databases and database design.
- Infrastructure, network, or operational automation experience.
- Familiarity with API management platforms such as Apigee.
- Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, or Cloud Foundry.
- Experience with Postman or similar API testing tools.
- Experience with Git/GitHub and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of networking, load balancing, PKI/certificates, cryptography, or key management.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Work Arrangement
- Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote
- Work location: Irving, TX – Las Colinas
- Candidates must be able to work onsite at the approved location.
