Are you an IT Support professional with manufacturing experience seeking your next opportunity? We have a contract opening for an onsite Support Technician who will provide onsite and remote technical hardware/software support for client computers, servers, notebooks and other technologies for the company. This role is on site with free parking and business casual dress code with jeans allowed.
Contract Duration: This six month + contract with the potential to go permanent
Required Skills & Experience
- Associate degree in Computer Science or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 7+ years of hands-on technical support experience.
- Active Directory and Zebra Printer experience
- Strong proficiency with Office 365 and Windows 11 Operating System.
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network configurations.
- Skilled in diagnosing and repairing PC, notebook, and peripheral hardware.
- Experience with backup software, remote desktop tools, and endpoint management.
- Basic scripting (e.g., PowerShell) preferred.
- Familiarity with relevant business applications including Revit, Aptean Made2Manage, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 is strongly preferred.
- Communication & Organizational Skills
- Capable of resolving both first- and second-level technical issues independently
- Ability to handle a fast-paced and dynamic work environment with changing priorities and responsibilities.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Supporting C Suite
- Prior Tier II/III or senior-level support experience preferred.
- Intune experience preferred
- Microsoft MCP certification for the current desktop operating system (preferred).
What You Will Be Doing
Daily Responsibilities
- Monitor the ticket flow for the supported business unit and resolve or escalate urgent tickets
- Set up, configure, administer, and support server hardware/software and client devices (PCs, notebooks, etc.).
- Provide on-site and remote technical support for resolving hardware/software issues based on Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Monitor, tune, and configure servers using available tools; maintain and ensure effective server backups.
- Perform system installations, upgrades to hardware/firmware, and OS patches. Plan, schedule, test, and coordinate updates, including OS scripts maintenance.
- Document and communicate system changes, maintenance schedules, and incidents effectively across teams. Including keeping ticketing system updated.
- Ensure systems adhere to company IT standards, policies, and security protocols.
- Utilize the work order system to adhere to IT support schedules and guidelines; keep work orders up to date.
- Provide second-level technical support for more complex client/server technical problems.
- Deliver service and support determined by the current SLAs and ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Understanding of client/server LAN/WAN environments
- Ability to resolve both first and second level client hardware/software technical problems.
- Ability to handle a fast paced, dynamic, volatile environment.
- Ability to get along well and deal with people in all levels of responsibility.
- High School Diploma required. Computer science degree or equivalent experience required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Microsoft MCP certification for the current desktop operating system (preferred).
- Ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization.
