Job details

Lean Continuous Improvement Process Engineer
TranSCend SAP Transformation | Raritan, NJ
Position Overview
We are seeking a Lean Continuous Improvement Process Engineer to help reduce the cost and improve the efficiency of TranSCend, a global digital transformation program involving SAP implementation and deployment.
This role focuses on understanding how work gets done across business and technology teams—not on configuring SAP or managing IT systems. You’ll map processes, identify delays and waste, quantify improvement opportunities, and help teams design more efficient future-state ways of working. You’ll also explore where AI and automation may support or supplement manual work.
Key Responsibilities

  • Interview and collaborate with business stakeholders, IT specialists, consultants, and global teams to understand current workflows and handoffs.
  • Develop clear current-state and future-state process maps, particularly across requirements gathering, system build, data migration, and deployment.
  • Apply Lean and Six Sigma methods to identify bottlenecks, rework, unnecessary steps, and other sources of delay or cost.
  • Analyze process data and performance metrics to quantify waste, cycle time, effort, and potential savings.
  • Recommend practical process improvements and new ways of working that can reduce program costs and improve delivery timelines.
  • Help teams understand why activities take as long as they do and identify opportunities to streamline work and reduce reliance on external consulting support.
  • Partner with data scientists and AI teams to assess opportunities for generative AI, agents, or automation to support process activities.
  • Present findings and recommendations in a clear, constructive way to stakeholders with a range of technical backgrounds.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in continuous improvement, process engineering, or process transformation.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • Demonstrated experience mapping processes, analyzing performance, identifying waste, and implementing improvements.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret metrics and build a fact-based case for change.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to work effectively across business and technology teams.
  • Collaborative, respectful approach to working with global stakeholders and diverse teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt.
  • Experience supporting SAP implementations or large-scale digital transformations; SAP S/4HANA exposure is a plus.
  • Experience in digital or non-manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with generative AI, AI agents, or process automation opportunities.

Engagement Details

  • Location: Raritan, NJ, with periodic onsite work at the New Brunswick, NJ headquarters; approximately 1x/week or if 100% remote, travel to office 2-3x/the engagement for workshops and gathering requirements.
  • Engagement: Anticipated 6–12 months, supporting the broader TranSCend transformation program.
  • Team: Works alongside continuous improvement engineers, Black Belts, and AI teams.
