A venture-backed AI company in San Francisco (hybrid) is hiring a full-time Infrastructure Engineer to help power a next-generation intelligence platform used in real-world engineering environments. This role blends backend development and cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on Python, FastAPI, GCP, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure-as-Code. You’ll be joining a deeply technical team building systems that operate at scale in data-heavy, high-security environments.
This opportunity is ideal for engineers who enjoy owning core platform architecture and working close to the product. The company is redefining how engineering organizations make decisions by applying AI to complex physical systems, a space with massive technical depth and long-term impact. You’ll gain exposure to hybrid cloud deployments, customer-managed environments, and production systems that demand reliability, performance, and security from day one.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of experience in cloud or platform engineering
- Strong Python background, including API-driven services (FastAPI preferred)
- Hands-on experience with GCP (AWS/Azure acceptable)
- Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration in production
- Infrastructure-as-Code experience (Terraform, Pulumi, or similar)
- Understanding of security fundamentals (IAM, secrets management, RBAC)
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience supporting backend application teams
- Hybrid or customer-managed cloud deployments
- CI/CD pipelines for production systems
- Monitoring, logging, and observability tooling
- Exposure to regulated or high-compliance environments
- Background in AI, ML infrastructure, or data-heavy systems
