A technology startup in the Grapevine, TX area is building a next-generation platform that blends software, hardware, and AI-driven capabilities to support real-world monitoring and operational intelligence.

They are currently seeking an IT Support & Security Engineer (Automation & AI) to join their team. This position will be heavily hands-on, responsible for owning internal IT support while also playing a key role in cybersecurity operations, compliance efforts, and automation initiatives. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in IT support but has grown into security-focused work — someone who understands endpoints, access, and systems, but also thinks proactively about risk, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

This role does require onsite work in Grapevine on a hybrid basis.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3–6 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or cybersecurity
  • Hands-on experience supporting internal users, endpoints, and IT systems in a technology-driven environment
  • Strong exposure to cybersecurity fundamentals, including endpoint security, access controls, vulnerability management, and system hardening
  • Experience working within or supporting security frameworks such as NIST or similar compliance environments
  • Experience with logging, monitoring, and troubleshooting production systems or security events
  • Ability to analyze issues, identify root causes, and proactively prevent recurrence
  • Experience working with ticketing systems such as Zendesk, ServiceNow, or similar
  • Strong communication skills with ability to translate technical issues to non-technical users

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Experience supporting or contributing to CMMC, NIST 800-171, or similar compliance initiatives
  • Experience with SIEM tools or security monitoring platforms
  • Scripting or automation experience using Python, Bash, or similar
  • Experience working with APIs or system integrations
  • Familiarity with SQL or data querying
  • Exposure to AI tools and interest in leveraging them for workflow or operational improvements
  • Experience working in startup or small team environments
  • Security certifications such as CompTIA Security+
