Job Title: Lead QA Engineer – AI (NYC Hybrid)
Location: Hybrid NYC in Midtown 3 days/week
This is a full-time, hybrid position based in New York, NY, for a Lead QA Engineer joining a specialized B2B Insurtech business backed by a prestigious global investment management firm. The company is building an AI-native platform designed to transform complex, paper-heavy insurance processes into modern, data-driven experiences using advanced LLM-integrated systems.
This is a high-impact opportunity to join a high-growth business that offers the stability of an industry leader with the “zero-to-one” ownership of an early-stage startup. The #1 feature of this role is the chance to define the standard for quality assurance in an “agent-first” development environment, moving beyond traditional testing into the future of AI-assisted engineering. We are looking for a technical leader who is energized by solving hard problems with automation and wants deep ownership over a platform that is fundamentally changing how the insurance industry operates. You will gain unparalleled experience in AI-native architecture while working in a culture that prioritizes experimentation, professional growth, and a healthy hybrid work-life balance.
Required Skills & Experience
-
5–7 years of professional engineering experience with a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
-
Deep technical expertise in TypeScript, Jest, and Playwright for building comprehensive automation suites.
-
Significant experience with AI/LLM tools, specifically experimenting with or building agentic development workflows and code generation.
-
Strong knowledge of application security and the ability to design infrastructure for vulnerability detection.
-
Proven track record in B2B SaaS or high-growth environments, delivering high-quality code in fast-paced settings.
Desired Skills & Experience
-
Professional experience within the Life Insurance or HealthTech industries.
-
Background in early-stage startups or incubated ventures.
-
Professional working proficiency in Spanish (for collaborating with nearshore teams).
