Principal Full Stack Node.JS Developer

We are partnered with a high-growth logistics and supply chain technology organization that is leveraging AI-driven solutions to transform and optimize complex operational processes. Their platform blends advanced software, automation, and artificial intelligence to enhance efficiency across logistics, warehousing, and transportation operations. The engineering team operates in a collaborative, fast-moving environment where technical leaders have a high level of ownership and the ability to partner directly with executives and key business stakeholders to drive innovation.

This opportunity is for a Principal or Founding Software Engineer who will set the technical vision and lead the design, architecture, and scaling of cutting-edge, AI-powered full stack applications that drive mission-critical supply chain operations. You’ll own and deliver strategic, end-to-end solutions, build intuitive web applications, and develop highly-scalable backend systems, while collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, leadership, and executive teams to redefine logistics technology for real-world impact. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, architect, build, and support highly scalable full stack applications using Node.js and React (40%)

  • Lead the development and integration of AI-enabled features into both internal systems and customer-facing platforms (20%)

  • Create, enhance, and maintain robust backend APIs and microservices to power logistics and supply chain solutions (15%)
  • Set the technical vision, advance system architecture, and optimize application performance and cloud-based infrastructure (10%)
  • Drive seamless integration of third-party services, internal platforms, and external data sources (10%)
  • Mentor senior engineers and engage with executive stakeholders to drive technical standards and best practices (5%)

Qualifications

Experience

  • 10+ years in software engineering with a track record of increasing technical leadership responsibility.
  • Previous experience as a Principal Engineer, Founding Engineer, Staff+ Engineer, Engineering Lead, or technical executive.
  • Demonstrated ownership of large-scale products from design through production and growth.

Technical Expertise

  • Deep hands-on expertise in:
    • Node.js
    • React
    • Modern JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystems
  • Strong background in:
    • API architecture and design
    • Distributed systems
    • Microservices
    • Cloud-native platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
    • Reliability, scalability, observability, and performance optimization

AI Experience

  • Direct experience building and deploying AI-powered products or platforms.
  • Proven ability to translate AI capabilities into measurable business outcomes such as:
    • Revenue growth
    • Operational efficiency
    • Customer adoption
    • Automation improvements
  • Experience integrating LLMs, agent frameworks, vector databases, AI orchestration, or ML-powered workflows is highly valuable.

Business & Leadership

  • Comfortable partnering with executive leadership and influencing company-level technical strategy.
  • Strong communicator able to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experienced mentor who can raise engineering standards and develop senior talent.
  • Demonstrates strong ownership, sound judgment, and data-driven decision making.

Industry Preference

  • Experience in:
    • Logistics
    • Supply chain
    • Transportation
    • Warehousing
  • Understanding of operational workflows, fulfillment networks, carrier integrations, inventory systems, or warehouse automation would be a major advantage.
