This is a true new business role — you will own your pipeline from first outreach through signed contract, with a heavy emphasis on prospecting and market development.
This position is ideal for someone who is energized by the challenge of opening doors, building relationships from scratch, and winning competitive deals. You will serve as the face of the company to prospective clients, articulating the value of managed IT services, cybersecurity solutions, and cloud offerings in a way that resonates with business owners and decision-makers. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, tenacious, and thrives in an environment where their earnings are directly tied to their results.
The organization is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where all employees are treated equitably and with respect.
Required Skills & Experience
2+ years of B2B sales experience with a consistent track record of meeting or exceeding quota
Demonstrated success generating your own leads and building pipeline through cold outreach, networking, and referrals
Experience selling to business owners, C-suite executives, or IT decision-makers at small and mid-sized organizations
Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to uncover pain points and align solutions to business needs
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
Ability to manage a full sales cycle independently from prospecting through close
Highly organized with strong follow-through and attention to detail
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally for client meetings and networking events
Desired Skills & Experience
Prior experience selling IT managed services, cybersecurity, cloud solutions, or technology services
Familiarity with common MSP offerings such as helpdesk support, endpoint management, Microsoft 365, backup and disaster recovery, or cybersecurity bundles
Existing relationships with SMB decision-makers in Central or Northern New Jersey
Experience using a CRM platform (HubSpot, Salesforce, ConnectWise, or similar) to manage pipeline and activity
Knowledge of the competitive MSP landscape in the greater NJ/NY metro area
Exposure to solution or value-based selling methodologies (MEDDIC, Challenger, SPIN, or similar)
What You Will Be Doing
Prospecting for new business through cold calling, email outreach, LinkedIn, local networking events, and referral partnerships
Qualifying inbound and outbound leads to assess fit, timeline, and budget
Conducting discovery meetings and needs assessments with prospective clients to understand their IT environment and business challenges
Developing and presenting tailored proposals and service packages in collaboration with the technical team
Managing a healthy, well-documented pipeline and keeping CRM records current
Negotiating contracts and closing new managed services agreements
Coordinating a smooth handoff to the account management and service delivery teams post-close
Representing the company at local business events, chamber meetings, and industry functions to build brand presence and referral networks
