A global leader in payments and digital commerce is looking for a Director, Product Development – Agentic Commerce Partner Integrations to help define how AI-powered commerce experiences are delivered across the next generation of digital ecosystems. This company serves as the innovation engine behind many of the company’s most strategic digital initiatives, building products and platforms that transform how customers interact with payments, commerce, and membership. As AI agents, digital wallets, merchant platforms, and intelligent assistants continue to reshape commerce, they are investing heavily in the partnerships and platform capabilities that will power this emerging ecosystem.
In this role, you will own the strategy, roadmap, and execution of strategic partner integrations that bring Agentic Commerce capabilities to market. Working closely with AI platforms, payment service providers, wallet providers, merchants, technology partners, and internal stakeholders, you will translate platform capabilities into scalable partner implementations that drive adoption while maintaining the highest standards of customer trust, security, and operational excellence. This position requires a unique combination of product leadership, ecosystem strategy, payments expertise, and partnership management.

Required Skills & Experience
• 10+ years of progressive Product Management or Product Leadership experience within payments, fintech, digital commerce, platform partnerships, or complex technology environments
• Proven experience leading strategic integrations, platform partnerships, ecosystem products, or large-scale technology initiatives
• Strong understanding of APIs, platform architectures, developer ecosystems, and integration models
• Experience working directly with strategic technology partners and managing complex cross-company initiatives
• Deep understanding of payments infrastructure, authentication, authorization, tokenization, and transaction processing systems
• Experience launching products, partnerships, or capabilities within rapidly evolving markets
• Strong ability to operate within highly matrixed organizations and influence stakeholders across multiple business functions
• Experience utilizing customer research, analytics, and data to drive product strategy and roadmap decisions
• Exceptional communication, executive presence, and stakeholder management skills
Desired Skills & Experience
• Strong knowledge of card payments infrastructure, issuer processing, card lifecycle management, and network tokenization frameworks
• Experience working with digital wallet ecosystems such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, merchant wallets, or tokenized payment solutions
• Familiarity with fraud prevention, risk management, authorization systems, and transaction decisioning platforms
• Experience partnering with AI platforms, agent ecosystems, PSPs, marketplaces, or developer platforms
• Experience launching products across multi-sided platforms and ecosystem businesses
• Experience contributing to industry standards, interoperability frameworks, or ecosystem governance initiatives
• Experience managing strategic partnerships with large-scale technology companies
• Familiarity with regulatory, compliance, policy, or governance requirements within emerging technology domains
• MBA or advanced degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
What You Will Be Doing Daily Responsibilities
• Define partner-specific strategies and roadmaps that support the broader Agentic Commerce vision and platform strategy
• Lead the development and execution of strategic integrations across AI platforms, digital wallets, PSPs, merchants, and ecosystem partners
• Translate platform capabilities into scalable partner implementations that balance customer experience, technical feasibility, risk, and business objectives
• Establish launch plans, success metrics, and adoption strategies for partner programs and ecosystem initiatives
• Analyze adoption trends, performance metrics, customer outcomes, and partner feedback to drive continuous optimization
• Build and maintain relationships with senior product, engineering, and business leaders across strategic partners
• Influence partner roadmaps and integration priorities to align with American Express ecosystem objectives
• Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Operations, Commercial, and Network teams to drive execution
• Identify opportunities to expand ecosystem adoption and evaluate emerging partnership models and channels
• Partner with platform, network, and growth teams to ensure alignment across platform capabilities, infrastructure investments, and future innovation initiatives
• Help shape American Express’ long-term participation in the evolving agentic commerce ecosystem through strategic thought leadership and market insight
