Job details

This Charlotte, NC–based opportunity is for a full-time Associate Platform Engineer working onsite with a fast-growing organization building enterprise-grade AI solutions. This role sits at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, backend engineering, and client delivery, leveraging a modern stack centered around Python and AWS (Lambda, S3, SQS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, EC2) alongside React/TypeScript on the frontend. The position blends hands-on engineering with client-facing deployment support, offering exposure to real-world production systems at scale.

This is a high-impact, growth-oriented role ideal for a strong generalist engineer who thrives in ambiguous environments and enjoys diving into complex systems. Engineers in this role will work closely with forward-deployed teams, support live client environments, and contribute to internal product development. The organization values curiosity, ownership, and the ability to troubleshoot issues end-to-end across the stack—making this an exceptional opportunity for engineers looking to accelerate their careers in cloud engineering, AI-driven platforms, and client-facing technical roles.
Required Skills & Experience

  • 2–4 years of professional software engineering experience
  • Strong proficiency in Python and object-oriented programming principles
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services including Lambda, S3, SQS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, EC2, CloudFormation, and CloudWatch
  • Solid understanding of serverless architecture and distributed systems
  • Experience working with NoSQL databases (DynamoDB preferred)
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs and modern web service design
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot production systems, analyze logs, and debug issues across a full stack environment
  • Experience reading and contributing to unfamiliar codebases quickly and effectively
  • Exposure to frontend technologies (React, TypeScript, Next.js)
  • Experience supporting production systems in a client-facing capacity
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar)
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure as code (CloudFormation or Terraform)
  • Exposure to AI/ML systems, LLMs, or agent-based architectures
  • Experience building documentation, runbooks, or operational playbooks
  • Background working in a startup or fast-paced client delivery environment
  • Experience integrating with enterprise systems (ERP, TMS, accounting platforms, etc.)
  • Comfort working cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

What You Will Be Doing
Tech Breakdown

  • 50% Cloud Infrastructure & Platform (AWS, serverless architecture, system operations)
  • 30% Backend / Full Stack Development (Python, APIs, React-based interfaces)

  • Contributing to deployment efforts alongside forward deployed engineering teams
  • Enhancing internal products and tools using modern frontend and backend technologies
  • Assisting with system configuration, rollout, and replication across teams
