Job Description
A leading financial services company located in Charlotte, NC is searching for an experienced Identity and Access Management (IAM) Engineer to join their dynamic team. As an IAM Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust identity governance and authentication platforms to secure organizational assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
In this position, you’ll architect and enhance IAM solutions, working hands-on with both cloud-based and on-premises access controls, Single Sign-On (SSO), and privileged access management. You will evaluate current access management frameworks, troubleshoot complex identity workflows, and automate key processes to support security and business requirements. You’ll also identify opportunities for improvements, oversee integrations with internal tools and third-party applications, and contribute to policy and standards development.
Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong background in Identity and Access Management systems and protocols (e.g., SAML, OAuth2, OpenID Connect)
  • Experience administering and integrating SSO, MFA, and federated identity solutions
  • Proficient with IAM platforms such as SailPoint, CyberArk, Okta, Ping Identity, or Microsoft Azure AD
  • Hands-on knowledge of automating IAM workflows using scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc.)
  • Familiarity with lifecycle management, role-based access control (RBAC), and privileged access solutions
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Experience configuring IAM in large enterprise or financial institutions
  • Exposure to cloud identity services (AWS IAM, Azure AD, Google Cloud IAM)
  • Working knowledge of IT compliance (SOX, PCI, FFIEC, SOC 2) and regulatory standards
  • Previous involvement in IAM architecture or transformation initiatives
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CIAM, or Microsoft/AWS certifications)

Daily Responsibilities

100% Hands On

  • Develop and support IAM configurations and integrations
  • Manage user lifecycle processes, access reviews, and role engineering
  • Troubleshoot and resolve identity governance, provisioning, and authentication issues
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to ensure secure and reliable access controls
  • Automate manual processes and enhance workflows for efficiency and compliance
  • Participate in audits and document IAM procedures and standards
