A growing Microsoft-focused consulting and SaaS organization is expanding its Business Analyst team in Tempe, AZ support a surge of new client engagements and technology modernization initiatives. This is a contract opportunity that offers exposure to a wide range of industries, business environments, and Microsoft-based solutions. In this role, you will partner directly with clients and internal technical teams to help define, document, and deliver business-driven technology solutions.
The most exciting aspect of this position is the variety of work. Rather than supporting a single environment, you’ll have the opportunity to work across multiple client projects simultaneously, helping organizations modernize legacy processes, replace outdated systems, and implement new Microsoft technologies. You may work with organizations transitioning from paper-based processes, legacy platforms, or aging enterprise systems and help guide them toward scalable Microsoft-centric solutions. This is an ideal opportunity for a Business Analyst who enjoys client interaction, thrives in a consulting environment, and can bridge the gap between business needs and technical delivery. You’ll work alongside architects, engineers, and project teams to gather requirements, facilitate discovery sessions, write user stories, manage product backlogs, and help drive successful project outcomes using Agile best practices and tools such as Azure DevOps and Jira.
Contract Duration: 12+ months
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of Business Analyst experience within technology-focused environments
- Experience gathering, documenting, and translating business requirements into functional and technical specifications
- Strong experience writing and managing user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog items
- Hands-on experience working within Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar Agile project management tools
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Experience working within Agile development environments including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and stakeholder reviews
- Knowledge of Microsoft Solutions Framework (MSF/TSF) methodologies
- Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to facilitate requirements gathering sessions, workshops, and discovery meetings
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including developers, architects, QA teams, and project stakeholders
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience within consulting or professional services organizations
- Exposure to Microsoft-based platforms and enterprise solutions
- Experience supporting digital transformation or modernization initiatives
- Familiarity with legacy system migrations and process improvement projects
- Strong documentation and workflow mapping skills
- Experience working with clients across multiple industries
- Prior experience managing multiple concurrent projects
