Job Description
An industry-leading organization in Iselin, NJ is searching for an Identity and Access Management (IAM) Engineer to help expand and reinforce its digital identity controls. This position will center on supporting secure access management for a broad workforce in a mixed cloud/on-premises environment, ensuring strong authentication while minimizing friction for end users.
You will play a key role designing, documenting, and deploying IAM solutions that protect sensitive resources and enable seamless business operations. This role involves integrating and maintaining lifecycle management workflows, directly supporting access provisioning and privilege assignment, and carrying out comprehensive entitlement reviews. As an IAM Engineer, you’ll closely monitor access approvals, perform regular audits, and partner with IT and compliance teams to proactively close security gaps and address audit findings.

Core Duties

  • Implement and oversee user access protocols, including onboarding, separation, and role changes utilizing automated provisioning technologies
  • Administer, troubleshoot, and enhance directory infrastructure and cloud identity solutions
  • Set up and manage multi-layer authentication, self-service password resets, and administration of privileged accounts
  • Conduct access recertification campaigns and periodic entitlement reviews, gathering evidence for audit support
  • Support policy review and write-ups to ensure procedures reflect current regulatory obligations and industry best practices
  • Work with security architects to evaluate new IAM software and tools for better operational efficiency
  • Maintain documentation of identity integrations, data flow, and workflow automations

Required Skills & Experience

  • Professional experience working with IAM platforms such as Okta, SailPoint, MS Azure AD, or comparable technologies
  • Knowledge of access management protocols and standards (e.g., SAML, SCIM, OAuth, RBAC)
  • Confident using PowerShell, Bash, or Python to automate access management operations
  • Strong problem-solving skills with hands-on experience remediating access and authorization issues
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Security, or equivalent hands-on background

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior exposure to large-scale IAM solutions in a hybrid cloud setting
  • Working knowledge of audit requirements, controls testing, or relevant framework implementation (SOC, PCI, HIPAA, etc.)
  • Previous project experience on identity governance automation
  • Relevant security certifications highly desirable (CISSP, GIAC, CIAM, or platform-specific credentials)
