Job Description

A major financial services company in Iselin, New Jersey is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to help support secure cloud platforms, automated delivery pipelines, and enterprise infrastructure. This position will work across development, security, and operations to ensure applications and infrastructure are deployed safely, consistently, and at scale.

The engineer will be responsible for improving deployment automation, maintaining container platforms, supporting cloud security practices, and reducing manual infrastructure work. You’ll partner with engineering, QA, security, and operations teams to strengthen release processes, improve system reliability, and support secure production environments.

Contract Duration: 12+ months

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience managing Google Kubernetes Engine environments
  • Solid knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized workloads
  • Experience working with Docker Swarm
  • Strong Linux administration experience
  • Background building and supporting CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with tools such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms
  • Understanding of cloud networking, security controls, and access management
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-resolution skills

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning
  • Experience using Ansible for configuration management
  • Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code
  • Python scripting and automation experience
  • Experience integrating services through REST APIs
  • Familiarity with OpenShift and OpenShift Container Storage
  • Experience supporting PostgreSQL databases
  • Experience working with Elasticsearch
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with multiple technical teams
  • Strong attention to documentation, quality, and detail

What You Will Be Doing Daily Responsibilities

  • Maintain secure cloud environments running on GCP
  • Administer and scale GKE and Kubernetes infrastructure
  • Support Docker Swarm-based container environments
  • Manage Linux servers across development and production systems
  • Design and improve automated build and deployment workflows
  • Provision infrastructure using Terraform and configuration automation
  • Create Python scripts to automate operational tasks and system processes
  • Develop and support REST API integrations
  • Work closely with development, QA, security, and infrastructure teams
  • Monitor cloud services and investigate performance, availability, and security issues
  • Support PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch platforms
  • Improve deployment reliability, infrastructure consistency, and system resiliency
  • Maintain architecture documentation, operational procedures, and technical standards
