Our client is an innovative software company seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to join their Platform Engineering organization. This is a full-time opportunity for an experienced technical leader who thrives at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, automation, and software development. The team leverages modern cloud technologies, containerized workloads, infrastructure-as-code, and scalable engineering practices to deliver highly reliable enterprise software solutions.

You’ll serve as a senior technical leader, shaping platform architecture, driving engineering standards, improving operational excellence, and mentoring engineers across the organization. Required Skills & Experience

10+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering production-grade applications and services

5+ years of experience in platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, cloud operations, or distributed systems in a senior-level role

Strong experience designing, deploying, and operating workloads within public cloud environments (AWS preferred)

Deep understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes
-
Experience implementing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools
-
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language used for backend services, automation, or systems development
-
Experience supporting distributed systems that span both cloud and customer-managed environments
-
Hands-on expertise with monitoring, observability, logging, and performance analysis tools
-
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills across complex production systems
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

Expertise with AWS architecture and cloud services

Experience with advanced Infrastructure as Code practices and deployment automation

Background supporting solutions that combine cloud-hosted services with customer-hosted components

Experience building internal developer platforms, deployment tooling, or engineering productivity solutions

Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, software delivery practices, and release management

Experience establishing engineering standards, operational processes, and platform strategy

Strong mentorship and technical leadership capabilities

Understanding of infrastructure security best practices and governance requirements

Previous experience in a high-growth technology environment

Exposure to modern technologies such as Python, TypeScript, Rust, Kotlin, or similar languages
