Senior AI Platform Engineer
An enterprise technology organization is seeking a Senior AI Platform Engineer to join its AI Engineering team in Fort Worth, TX. This is a 5-month contract opportunity supporting the development of enterprise-scale AI platforms and agent-based systems. The environment leverages Python, cloud-native technologies, Kubernetes, modern API architectures, and large language model integrations to support business-critical applications.
This role offers the chance to work on a rapidly growing AI initiative focused on building reusable platform capabilities for intelligent applications. The team is looking for a software engineer who enjoys solving distributed systems challenges, building reliable backend services, and helping organizations adopt AI technologies responsibly and effectively. Engineers in this group gain exposure to modern AI architectures while continuing to deepen their expertise in cloud engineering and platform development.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong Python development skills
- Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices
- Working knowledge of Java, Go, or TypeScript
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure
- Hands-on Docker and Kubernetes experience
- CI/CD pipeline implementation and support
- Infrastructure-as-Code experience using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi
- Experience integrating or supporting AI/LLM-powered applications
- Automated testing experience including unit and integration testing
Desired Skills & Experience
- LangChain, LangGraph, or similar orchestration frameworks
- Kafka or event-driven architecture experience
- Vector database experience
- Redis and caching solutions
- FastAPI or Flask
- Async Python development
- OpenTelemetry
- Datadog or Splunk
- Agent evaluation frameworks
- Travel, transportation, or airline industry experience
What You Will Be Doing
- Develop platform services supporting AI agents and intelligent workflows
- Build and maintain APIs used for AI application integration
- Create orchestration capabilities and execution frameworks
- Improve platform monitoring, logging, tracing, and observability
- Contribute to cloud infrastructure and deployment automation
- Partner with machine learning and architecture teams
- Write automated tests to improve reliability and production readiness
- Support enterprise AI platforms in production environments
