A well-established enterprise organization is seeking a Mainframe CICS System Administrator to join its infrastructure operations team in the Phoenix, Arizona area. This is a full-time hybrid position requiring onsite attendance three days per week. The environment includes IBM CICS Transaction Server, z/OS platforms, enterprise monitoring tools, and large-scale transaction processing systems that support critical business functions.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced mainframe professional who enjoys solving complex technical issues, improving system performance, and maintaining highly available environments. The organization is investing in modernization initiatives while continuing to support critical legacy infrastructure, providing exposure to both operational excellence and long-term transformation efforts. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced infrastructure professionals and contribute directly to platform reliability and performance.
Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience supporting IBM mainframe environments
  • Hands-on CICS Transaction Server (CICS TS) administration experience
  • Experience applying PTFs and supporting software maintenance activities
  • Knowledge of production, testing, and disaster recovery environments
  • Experience monitoring system health and resource utilization
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis abilities
  • Understanding of transaction processing systems
  • Experience managing system configurations and startup parameters

What You Will Be Doing

  • Install, configure, and support CICS Transaction Server environments
  • Apply maintenance, upgrades, and software updates
  • Administer production, testing, and disaster recovery regions
  • Monitor platform performance and system availability
  • Analyze CPU consumption, storage utilization, and transaction metrics
  • Perform tuning activities to improve overall system efficiency
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure and platform issues
  • Partner with engineering, operations, and support teams
