Job Title: Director of Product Design
Location: New York City (Hybrid)

Our client is a rapidly scaling technology company providing an AI-driven visual development platform that enables users to build and launch software without writing code. With a global community of over six million users, they are breaking down barriers to innovation by allowing creators to transition from simple prompts to fully functional, production-ready applications across web and mobile platforms. Their product bridges the gap between the speed of AI generation and the stability of robust, enterprise-grade software.

We are seeking a Director of Product Design to lead and scale a dedicated team of product designers. In this role, you will own the end-to-end user experience, driving the overarching design vision and establishing essential design processes. You will guide a growing team through comprehensive user research, prototyping, and UI design, while refining a cohesive design system to ensure an intuitive journey for users moving from initial idea to a scalable launched product.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of product design experience tackling complex UX challenges, specifically within Product-Led Growth (PLG) SaaS environments.

  • 5+ years of experience leading, scaling, and developing high-performing product design teams in a high-growth startup setting.

  • Proven track record of recruiting world-class senior design talent.

  • Deep expertise in guiding teams through rigorous user research, design exploration, and iterative refinement.

  • Strong ability to balance user needs, design vision, and critical business objectives through pragmatic prioritization.

  • Familiarity or strong interest in AI and no-code development platforms is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and coach a team of talented product designers while identifying clear avenues for their professional growth.

  • Drive the hiring strategy, including defining interview plans and actively scaling the design department.

  • Establish and enforce best practices for product discovery, delivery, and design iteration.

  • Refine and apply a modern, intuitive design system consistently across the entire product suite.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally and lead by example through direct user engagement, opportunity identification, and idea validation.

  • Shape the long-term product vision, ideal customer profiles, and user journeys based on comprehensive market and user research.

This is a hybrid position based in New York City, offering a highly competitive base salary ranging from $200,000 to $250,000, plus equity. You will be joining an inclusive, forward-thinking culture with a robust benefits package that includes comprehensive health coverage, a 401(k) match, generous PTO, wellness and work enablement stipends, and a unique sabbatical program.
