Job Location: 100% remote-ideally near Charlotte, NC, Phoenix, AZ, or Minneapolis, MN
Job Summary
We are seeking a Lead HR Workday Analyst to support a strategic HR transformation initiative focused on designing and developing new Workday solutions from the ground up. This is a senior-level, hands-on role that will partner closely with the Product Owner and HR Governance team to deliver scalable Workday capabilities that align with enterprise HR objectives.
Unlike traditional Workday support roles, this position is not focused on configuring existing Workday business processes. Instead, the selected candidate will help define requirements, design solutions, and build new Workday functionality from scratch. The ideal candidate is a self-driven professional who can quickly ramp up, work independently with minimal oversight, and effectively engage stakeholders across both business and technical organizations.
This role requires a strong blend of Workday expertise, business analysis, solution design, stakeholder management, and analytical problem-solving skills.
Required Skills
- 7+ years of experience implementing or supporting Workday solutions.
- Strong hands-on experience with Workday Extend and/or custom Workday application development.
- Proven experience designing and building new Workday solutions rather than solely configuring existing business processes.
- Experience gathering, analyzing, and translating complex business requirements into technical solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently break down business problems and recommend scalable solutions.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and quickly ramp up on new initiatives.
- Experience partnering with Product Owners, HR teams, and business stakeholders throughout the solution lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of HR business functions and governance processes.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, senior leadership, and business stakeholders.
- Experience creating functional documentation, process flows, and solution documentation.
Desired Skills
- Experience supporting HR Governance initiatives.
- Product Owner or Business Analyst experience within Workday projects.
- Experience designing enterprise HR technology solutions from scratch.
- Knowledge of Workday HCM modules and HR operational processes.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and cross-functional project delivery.
- Experience creating process maps, workflow documentation, and solution designs.
- Familiarity with Workday integrations, reporting, and security concepts.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence decisions across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Experience supporting large enterprise HR transformation programs.
- Ability to mentor junior analysts and provide guidance on solution design and best practices.
